Hello! I wanted to consult how best to make a “warm floor” system for an object. The customer does not want radiators, but wants to install a warm floor everywhere. We have a large area, for example, on the second floor the area of the restaurant is 1000 m2. And the length of one circuit is a maximum of 200 m.

Is it advisable to make such small “snakes”? And you still need to bring all systems to the cabinet, or put several distribution cabinets.

Thank you in advance for your attention and time!

From your question it’s not very clear whether you have a water floor, or electric. However, in both cases the answer to your question will be yes. Underfloor heating systems work perfectly, and on much larger areas, creating a comfortable temperature throughout the entire area of the hall (unlike radiators, which heat the air locally, only near their installation location).

It is better to put several cabinets, connecting to each (through collectors with mixing units) some kind of water heating loops (or electric cables). It is advisable to connect each section of electric heating through a separate thermostat, with its own sensor. Thus, you will get the possibility of zonal power adjustment in individual sections of the floor. For example, near the entrance to a room or near a wall with large windows, you can increase heat transfer without overheating areas in the back of the room.

When you are planning the laying of cables or pipes, do not forget about the expansion joints that are necessary in such an area. It is advisable that each heating section be within the same stretch of the screed - so you do not need to arrange transitions through the seams. Since you plan to use the maximum pipe lengths - it is better to choose a “double snake” or “snail” laying scheme - they contribute to the most even distribution of heat over the area.
