Hello! I wanted to change the 35 mm cartridge, but the bottom plastic part stuck to the tap. I managed to pull out the cartridge with pliers, but the bottom socket remained in the tap.

I decided to fill this case with citric acid at night, but nothing came of it. I tried to pick it with a screwdriver, and could not pull out the bottom panel. Friends, help with advice, what else can you try?

Good afternoon. I suspect that for a long time you did not provide maintenance for the cartridge and ignored its lubrication. As a result, she just washed and the device naturally stuck.

What can I advise ... There is such a tool, it is especially respected by motorists, but rarely do the mistresses / homeowners - WD-40. The number 40 does not mean anything terrible, it's just the number of attempts to create its formula for removing rust from jet aircraft.

How does this tool help in everyday life:

    1. Creates a temporary hydrobarrier, displaces dampness from the treated surface.
    2. It frees parts of devices from rust, scale and the like.
    3. Removes dirt.

You will need all these features.

Lubricate the adhered part of the mixer properly. Wait a certain time (usually indicated in the instructions), then try to pull out the plastic part that is stuck there. I don’t fully understand why you used to screw it with a screwdriver 🙂, because you could stall it even more. After processing VD-40, try pulling it with something like surgical forceps.

By the way, a rubber seal could still remain in the tap - take care to check. Then, always flush the faucet after VD-40 as well.

And yes, do not forget that when replacing the cartridge, you must put it with grease - it is better to use silicone oil here.
